The World Cup defending champions have been eliminated. Spain's 2-0 loss to Chile and subsequent elimination from the World Cup may have shocked fans but wasn't unprecedented. Italy and Brazil are the only two teams who have ever returned to win a second championship in a row. Only 60 percent of champion teams make it to the quarter finals.
