Princess Charlotte was spotted in little known Spanish children’s wear brand m&h in the portraits released on the occasion of her first birthday that the tot celebrated on May 2. A series of four pictures were released by Kensington Place a day before Charlotte’s birthday, showing her dressed in adorable outfits. The little royal has earlier worn frocks by the same small-town designer, believed to have been bought by her and older brother’s nanny, Maria Borrallo.

Charlotte was pictured in a blue frock and then a pink frock in the four pictures taken by her stylish mom Kate Middleton. She looked cute in the blue dress, which she wore with a matching bow and a cashmere cardigan. Her blue dress is by m&h.

The floral frock featured white frilly collar. “We were so surprised at first – the reaction was ‘this is impossible’ because we had no idea what the connection between our brand and the royal family is. But we soon discovered that the Princess’ nanny is Spanish so Kate must have found out about us that way!” said Borja Echevarria, spokesperson of m&h.

Borja said they were surprised about the royal seal of approval and at first did not believe that it was one of their creations. He recounted how at m&h they spent a couple of days trying to make sure that the frock Charlotte wore was their design. They did not want to announce the news without fact checking.

The spokesperson said that the “Charlotte effect” began immediately when the news was announced in all the magazines. The dresses were sold out instantly. Parents of little girls wanted to replicate the design their daughters and they were flooded with orders, many of which were from Britain.

Besides, m&h promised to produce the design in its Spring/Summer collection. The little-known family brand was catapulted to instant worldwide recognition thanks to Charlotte. The children’s wear label currently has stores in Valladolid, Madrid and Valencia in Spain.

This is not the first time Charlotte has sported m&h frocks. During the official portrait with Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her 90th birthday, the tot was seen in a pink m&h frock that she wore also during her first solo portraits when she was just six months old.
