‘Speechless’ Season 2, Episode 8: ‘The Bachelor’ Alum Nick Viall To Guest-Star
Former “The Bachelor” star Nick Viall will appear in the next episode of “Speechless.”
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 8 of the ABC comedy, Viall will play JJ’s (Mick Fowler) new friend Tyson, a hunky B-movie actor who takes his craft way too seriously. In the episode, JJ convinces his parents Maya (Minnie Driver) and Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) to take him on a college visit but hides an ulterior motive. As his real plan unravels, JJ enlists the help of Tyson, who gives the performance of his life to keep JJ out of hot water. Elsewhere in episode, Ray (Mason Cook) goes wild when he’s left home alone for the first time.
This marks the first acting role for Viall, who is best known for his appearances on ABC’s “The Bachelor” franchise. The 37-year-old was the star of Season 21 of “The Bachelor.” He proposed to special education teacher Vanessa Grimaldi during the finale, but the couple ended their engagement in August.
Prior to starring in his own season of “The Bachelor,” Viall appeared in Season 10 of “The Bachelorette” as one of Andi Dorfman’s suitors. Viall ended up as one of the final two bachelors of the season, but was left heartbroken when Dorfman chose Josh Murray to receive the final rose.
Viall returned for Season 11 of “The Bachelorette.” Like the previous season, he made it to the final rose ceremony, but star Kaitlyn Bristowe chose Shawn Booth over him.
Viall also appeared in Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” and competed in Season 24 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” with Peta Murgatroyd as his professional dance partner.
As seen in promo photos for Season 2, episode 8 of “Speechless,” Kelli Goss and Rick Overton also appear in the episode. Goss is best known for her role as Courtney Sloane on the CBS daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” while Overton is known for his roles in films “Willow,” “Groundhog Day” and “Cloverfield.”
“Speechless” Season 2, episode 8, titled “B-I-- BIKINI U-N--UNIVERSITY,” airs on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
