'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Drops New Trailer Featuring Villains From Previous Spidey Franchises
The highly anticipated movie "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has a new trailer featuring five villains from previous "Spider-Man" flicks, such as Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard and Electro.
The three-minute trailer, which was posted on the official Twitter handle of "Spider-Man" Tuesday evening, opens with Tom Holland's close-up while in the middle of a fight. His face is injured. The next few scenes feature Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Alfred Molina (Doc Ock).
Holland, 25, can then be seen looking back to his past when he first got bit by a spider that changed his life. He tells Zendaya (his girlfriend MJ) that she is the only reason why his life feels "normal."
The action-packed trailer goes on to introduce all five iconic villains one by one, before Doctor Strange informs Spider-Man, "We started getting some visitors."
"We started getting visitors… from every universe," the caption of the trailer reads. "Watch the official trailer for #SpiderManNoWayHome, exclusively in movie theaters December 17."
Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement for the movie. Many fans noted that if multiple iconic villains are coming back then original actors such as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who played Spider-Man in the past, might also return.
One of the fans even edited a photo of Maguire from 2007's "Spider-Man 3" along with Holland and Garfield and posted it on Twitter with the caption that reads, "Need This."
Another fan shared a screenshot of a particular scene from the trailer, in which Lizard jumps in a different direction while Spider-Man can be seen going toward Sandman. The fan implied that it can be another Spider-Man that Lizard is trying to attack.
Some fans also noted that it seems the other two Spider-Man are digitally removed for the sake of the trailer but in the movie, they might appear fighting those iconic villains.
Ahead of its release, the official Twitter handle of "Spider-Man" posted a reaction video of Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.
"T-minus 24 hours until you get to see what they're watching," it wrote in the caption.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is directed by Jon Watts and slated for release in theaters on Dec. 17.
