Willem Dafoe has opened up about reprising the iconic villain, Green Goblin, in the upcoming "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which will hit the theaters next week.

The 66-year-old actor admitted he thought it was "pretty nutty" when he first heard about the role. However, after speaking with director Jon Watts, the actor felt it was a "good solution."

"It was really the pitch," Dafoe said in an interview posted on Spider-Man's official YouTube channel Sunday. "And, like Jamie, I know Amy's history. She walked me through it, and then Jon, the director, kind of pitched the whole idea before I read a script and it sounded like a lot of fun and a good solution."

"And then when we went deeper into it, I liked the idea that I was returning to something that was same but different," the actor added.

Alfred Molina, who plays Doctor Otto Octavius in the highly anticipated Marvel movie, and Jamie Foxx, who plays Electro, were also part of the interview.

When Dafoe noted that it was "the idea" that got him to reprise his role, Molina chimed in and joked, "For me, it's just about the money," which made the other two actors laugh.

Molina also admitted that the material pitched to him was "excellent." However, he was concerned about his looks as he was reprising the role after 17 years.

"When the idea was first suggested I my first thought was hang on I'm 17 years older, I've got chins, I've got wrinkles, you know I mean what you know what are they going to do," Molina explained. "I suddenly realized wait a minute they've got the technology this isn't going to be a problem."

Foxx explained how happy he was after looking at his blue outfit in the movie. He said he didn't really care about other things.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is slated to release exclusively in theaters on Dec. 17. The highly anticipated movie also stars Zendaya, Dafoe, Tom Hardy, Marisa Tomei, Molina and Angourie Rice.
