St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails: Green Drink Recipes And How To Make Them
Everyone’s a little bit Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day, meaning everyone will want to enjoy a festive cocktail that is holiday appropriate (a.k.a. green).
Whether you’re really Irish and looking to just have some fun with the holiday, or you’re adopting the heritage for a day and plan to party, these six recipes for green cocktails will be sure to add to all the fun you plan to have.
I-Rish Upon A Star
What You Need:
- 2 diced, skinned chunks of Cucumber
- 2 diced, skinned chunks of Kiwi
- Small sprig of Fresh Dill
- 1 part Bombay Sapphire Gin
- Drizzle Elderflower Cordial
- Drizzle of Fresh Lime
To make, muddle the first three ingredients in the base of a cocktail shaker. Add Sapphire and remaining ingredients with a large scoop of ice. Shake vigorously, then double strain into a chilled glass.
Lepruchan
What You Need:
- 4 oz. Smirnoff Ice Green Apple
- 4 oz. Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
- 4 oz. Ginger Ale
To make, add ice, Smirnoff Ice and Smirnoff to a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into a martini glass and top with ginger ale.
Lucky Buck
What You Need:
- 2 oz. Deep Eddy Original Vodka
- 0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- Small Handful of Fresh Basil
- Top with Ginger Beer
To make, combine all ingredients except ginger beer into a cocktail shaker and shake with ice for 30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice in an Old-Fashioned glass and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a fresh basil leaf.
Seagram’s “Luck O’The Irish” Apple Lemon Drop
What You Need:
- 2 oz. Seagram’s Apple Vodka
- 1 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1 oz. Simple Syrup
- Sugar (for rim)
To make, rim a glass with sugar, then add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard to combine and chill ingredients, the strain into a glass. Garnish before serving.
Shamrock Pinch
What You Need:
- 2 oz. Barefoot Moscato
- ½ oz. Irish Whiskey
- 1 ½ oz. Orange Juice
- 1 ½ oz. Ginger Beer
- 1/8 Fresh Lime
To make, place ice in a tall glass and add wine, whiskey and orange juice. Top with ginger beer and squeeze fresh lime into the drink, then drop the shell in the glass.
Sláinte Matcha (Matcha Lemonade)
What You Need:
- 1” Piece Seedless Cucumber, roughly chopped
- 1 ½ oz. Vodka
- 4 oz. Matcha Lemonade
- Squeeze of Fresh Lemon Juice
- Cucumber Slices, for garnishing
To make, add cucumber and vodka to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Let the muddled mix sit for a few minutes to allow the cucumber flavor infuse the vodka. Then, add ice and Matcha Lemonade to the shaker and shake until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass, top with a squeeze of lemon juice and garnish with cucumber slices.
