Not everyone wants to head to the bar on St. Patrick’s Day. Some just want to curl up with a good movie on Netflix. Luckily, the streaming service has plenty of Irish flicks for American audiences.

“Young Offenders” (2016) When Irish authorities seize 61 bales of cocaine, one goes missing. With a price tag of €7 million, two teenagers steal bikes and go on a road trip to find the valuable drugs. The comedy later spawned a TV show.

“The Siege of Jadotville” (2016) An Irish UN battalion comes under siege during a peacekeeping mission in the Congo in 1961. The Netflix original film is based on a true story. “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Jamie Dornan plays leading man Commandant Pat Quinlan.

“Dare to be Wild” (2015) This romantic drama follows rookie gardener Mary Reynolds (Emma Greenwell), the 28-year-old Irish woman who won the 2002 Chelsea Flower Show. She didn’t have the background, experience or funding necessary, but her appreciation for nature and the wilderness won support from even the Royal Family.

“Gold” (2014) Netflix subscribers can see “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams in this Irish comedy. Her biological father has just returned to town to visit his own dying dad after over a decade away, and he wants to reconnect with his family. However, his family has moved on without him.

“Handsome Devil” (2016) Ned (Fionn O’Shea) is a nerd at a rugby-obsessed boarding school and Conor (Nicholas Galitzine), Ned’s roommate, is the star athlete. They bond over music, but that’s not all they have in common. They’re both gay.

“The Lodgers” (2017) This horror film will make St. Patrick’s Day thrilling. It is set in rural Ireland in the 1920s where two twins are cursed to stay in the confines of their home. They’re being punished for what their ancestors did.
