Stacie Halas: Porn Star Tiffany Six To File Appeal Against School’s Firing Decision
Stacie Halas, a Southern California teacher, who was fired Wednesday night for acting in a pornographic film, will now fight against the school board's decision seeking her dismissal, her attorney said.
The trustees of the California school unanimously voted Wednesday night in a closed session that the seventh and eighth grade science teacher should be fired from the Richard B. Haydock Intermediate School.
Last month, the 31-year-old teacher was placed on administrative leave after the students discovered her alleged porn video online. The video was made before Halas was hired as a school teacher and it is available on adult websites.
We're dealing with the disruption that we believe it would cause our district, and the schools in our district, if she were to return back to the classroom, Superintendent Jeff Chancer said, reported the Associated Press.
The board member felt that firing her was in the best interest of the school and also her presence in the school would cause a distraction and significant disruption to the students learning.
We disagree with the decision by the board to dismiss or seek the dismissal of Miss Halas. It is our intention at this time to vigorously contest the charges, Ventura County Star reported quoting her attorney Richard Schwab.
However, Halas has 30 more days to file appeal against the decision and seek an administrative hearing. Her lawyer told Ventura County Star that Halas is engaged in lawful conduct in a very vibrant business for California.
The accusations involve conduct before she was hired as a teacher, Schwab said.
The type of conduct she engaged in was lawful conduct in a business which, while others may disagree with its content, is very vibrant in both Los Angeles as well as the state of California, he said.
The allegations claiming that Halas acted in a pornographic video came to the attention of school March 2 when a student discovered the video online.
According to district officials, students spread a rumor in the school saying that one of the teachers was a porn star.
When school administrators initially investigated, they didn't find any evidence or proof against Halas claiming her to be a porn star.
However, later, a few teachers reported to administrators that they had found some information about Halas online.
I saw parts of the video, Chancer said last month. It's hardcore pornography.
Last month, school officials sent a letter to parents urging them to monitor their children's internet usage and dissuade their kids from visiting any adult sites allegedly featuring Halas.
