‘Star’ Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Mama’s Boy’? [VIDEO]
Everyone has something they are fighting for on “Star,” but when the ladies are forced to deal with a short deadline, their hopes and dreams will be compromised.
“At a neighborhood block party, Hunter (Chad James Buchanan) surprises Star (Jude Demorest) by inviting a superstar recording artist/producer to the event,” the synopsis teases. In the promo for “Star” Season 1, episode 8, “Mama’s Boy,” viewers see Star suggesting that the ladies have a block party fundraiser in order to raise bail money for Derek (Quincy Brown).
Last viewers saw on the Fox series, Derek was arrested after cops mistook him for one of the protesters who attacked a police officer when in reality, he was trying to help the injured officer. It looks like Hunter may be trying to get on Star’s good side by inviting a superstar seeing as he made her late for rehearsal and broke her phone in the last episode.
“Alexandra (Ryan Destiny) is forced to reexamine her dreams of stardom when her mother (Naomi Campbell) makes an irresistible proposal,” the synopsis for “Star” episode 8 also says.
Although viewers have not seen much of Alexandra’s mom, Rose, they know that she has a drinking problem and uses money to keep Alexandra in line. Will Rose offer to bail Derek out of jail? Will Alexandra be willing to pay the price?
“Meanwhile, Jahil (Benjamin Bratt) looks into a new opportunity,” the synopsis states. Jahil is always trying to scheme to be the next big thing and now that the ladies know Eva (Sharlene Taulé) can sing, she might be his next project.
Elsewhere, “Cotton (Amiyah Scott) meets with Pastor Harris (Tyrese Gibson) in hopes of fixing the relationship with her mother.” In the promo Pastor Harris can be seen trying to make Cotton admit she is a man. Both Cotton and Carlotta (Queen Latifah) are in tears and by the end of the clip and Cotton can be seen holding a gun to her head.
“Star” Season 1 airs on Wednesdays at 9:01 p.m. EST on Fox.
