“Star Wars: Andor” star Diego Luna has confirmed that some characters of the famous franchise will show up in the upcoming series.

In a recent interview with Deadline, the 41-year-old actor opened up about the highly anticipated Disney+ series. According to him, though he couldn’t spill anything about the ending, he can definitely confirm that fans will see some “familiar faces.”

“While I can’t say much, what I can tell you is that the experience was literally a transformation for me. It’s something that I really wanted to do and that I thought I was not going to be able to do. I’m more than happy,” the Mexican actor added..

Luna, who plays the titular rebel spy Cassian Andor on the show, acknowledged the challenges they faced while filming amid the pandemic. He was also thankful to the team behind the series as they were able to successfully wrap up production on the 12-episode project.

“To be honest, it’s been such a blessing to do this job and to do it under these circumstances. I had the chance to work with a team that I couldn’t be more proud of and admire more. It’s a hard-core moment to be out there shooting, and we were really lucky. We’re done with the shooting now and getting it ready for audiences to see it,” he said.

Although Luna did not drop names in his recent interview, some of the cast have already been named, and they include Adria Arjona, Kyle Soller, Robert Emms, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw and Denise Gough. Genevieve O’Reilly has also been confirmed to be reprising her role as Mon Mothma for the series, as per TechRadar.

“Andor” will chronicle the adventures of the titular intelligence operative prior to the events in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Plot-wise, nothing specific has been leaked to the press. Fans can expect to find some clues when the official trailer for the show is released.

“Star Wars: Andor” is part of the 2022 lineup for Disney+, alongside the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series and the third season of “The Mandalorian,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

No release date has been announced for the rebel spy series so far, but it is likely to arrive on the streaming service after the bounty hunter show is done.
