'Star Wars' Chewbacca Appears on 'Glee'
Popular Star Wars character Chewbacca will guest star in an upcoming Glee Christmas episode, according to one of the show's stars.
Matthew Morrison, who plays Glee coach Will Schuester on the popular show, confirmed to
Jimmy Kimmel Live that the popular, hairy beast would appear in a special Glee homage to Star Wars.
We called up George Lucas and he gave us Chewbacca. There is only one guy who can officially be Chewbaccca, and he lives in Northern California and they flew him in, Morrison said. We had Chewbacca for the day, and it was just great, and we were all taking pictures with him. This is a guy who has been doing it for 12 years.
Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike Chiang on the show, told AOL TV that Chewbacca's appearance involves wheelchair bound Artie's dreams, but refused to delve into the specifics of it. Still, Shum Jr. called it an incredible experience to be around Chewbacca.
It was incredibly awesome, Shum said. It was a huge surprise ... half of us came in right after he was done and it was like a mad house. Everyone's face was so happy. They were showing off their pictures.
It was so funny how many people actually love Chewbacca.
The Christmas Star Wars episode will air next Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
