Daisy Ridley, who is reprising her role as Rey in “Star Wars: Episode 9,” was so emotional on the last day of filming that she started to cry. In a recent interview, the actress talked about what the last day on set was like and how it was embarrassing for her when she got emotional in front of the entire cast and crew.
In an interview on "Good Morning America," Ridley said that she gave a speech on the last day after wrapping filming. The actress said that she doesn’t remember what she said in the speech, even though she admitted that people recorded her speech on their phones.
The whole cast and crew of the film was there on the last day, and Ridley said that she kept apologizing to them as she tried to control her tears. “It was embarrassing,” she admitted.
This may be the last time that the fans will get to see Ridley play Rey. “Star Wars: Episode 9” is the last film in the sequel trilogy, and the film is also expected to bring the Skywalker saga to an end by connecting all nine films from the franchise.
Two new trilogies are currently being planned. In an interview with AM to DM, Ridley confirmed that she will not be a part of the next “Star Wars” trilogy.
While details about the plot of the two trilogies are currently being kept under wraps, there are rumors that suggest that the one being developed by “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss is a prequel and the trilogy by Rian Johnson may not have a connection to be the main Skywalker saga.
Ridley also confirmed that the next “Star Wars” trilogy will be a “separate story.” She also confirmed that she will not be a part of these upcoming films.
Rey will continue be a central figure in “Star Wars: Episode 9,” which will be about the final fight against the First Order. The second trailer of the film is expected to be released at the San Diego Comic Con. According to the official website of the franchise, the fans who will attend the event will get a chance to buy some exclusive merchandise like t-shirts, toys, and posters.
