Among the mysteries that “Star Wars: Episode 9” is going to explore is Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) background. Clues about her parents were shared in “The Last Jedi,” but the upcoming film will reveal all the details about the character.

The question of Rey’s parents has been discussed ever since the first film in the sequel trilogy. In a recent interview with USA Today, Ridley confirmed that by the end of the next film the fans will understand what the whole “dealio” is about her character’s background.

In “The Last Jedi” it was revealed that Rey’s parents were nobodies who sold her off when she was very young for some drinking money. However, it was Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) who said these words, which means that it is possible that he was lying to get her to join him.

In a previous interview with ABC, director JJ Abrams said that going into “Star Wars: Episode 9” he knew that it had to be a satisfying experience for the audience. He and his team are aware that one of the things that the fans want to know more about is Rey’s background. The director teased that he and his team have honored what happened in “The Last Jedi,” but there is “more to the story” when it comes to Rey’s parents.

Some of the fans were not happy about the creative choices that Rian Johnson made with “The Last Jedi.” Will Abrams change things in his film to bring it in line with what the fans want?

According to Screen Rant, making changes about Rey’s parents in “Star Wars Episode 9” is a bad idea. The scene in which Ridley’s character finds out that she is a nobody is actually similar to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) finding out about his father.

Luke was devastated when he found out that his father, who he thought was a hero, was actually the biggest villain of the galaxy. Rey may have gone through something similar when she found out that even though she is a powerful Force user she is not connected to anyone famous, and her parents were some drunks on Jakku who sold her.

Will Rey find out that her parents were actually famous? Fans will have to watch “Star Wars: Episode 9” to find out. The film will be released on Dec. 20.
