'Star Wars: Episode 9': JJ Abrams Excited About Sith Troopers
The new Sith Troopers in “Star Wars: Episode 9” were officially introduced at the San Diego Comic Con. The full body armor of the soldiers were shown at the exhibit at the event, and director JJ Abrams shared some details about the amount of work that went into designing the new look.
The Sith Troopers will be a part of the First Order, the official Star Wars website has confirmed. According to the official description of the new suit, the “crimson armor blends elements of troopers from the saga’s past, while incorporating aggressive new details.”
Commenting on the new soldiers of the First Order, Abrams said that the materials, color, lines, and the aesthetics of the design “just felt absolutely right.” The director added that he can’t wait for the audience to see the work done by the everyone in making the film.
Disney appears to be expecting a lot of excitement for the Red Stormtroopers. While the fans have only seen the armor and the blasters of the new soldiers in the First Order, the toys reveal some of the other weapons the soldiers will carry. Pictures of the Sith Trooper toys have already been released online, and details about the other tie-in merchandise of “Star Wars: Episode 9” may be revealed soon.
While the Sith Troopers are a new unit of soldiers that will be introduced in the upcoming film, the white armored soldiers will continue to be a part of the First Order. The trailer of the film has already confirmed that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) hasn’t replaced all the soldiers’ armor after taking over as the new Supreme Leader.
Fans of the franchise will be familiar with the Sith Troopers from the video game “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” However, the name being used in “Star Wars: Episode 9” will be for the soldiers of the First Order, and they may have nothing to do with the former Sith Empire, Entertainment Weekly reported.
