'Star Wars: Episode 9' Leaks: Rey's Father Is A Familiar Character
“Star Wars: Episode 9” is expected to uncover a lot of secrets. From the mystery surrounding the Knights of Ren to the question of how the Emperor will return, there is a lot to look forward to in the film. However, one question that some fans appears to have forgotten about is the identity of Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) parents, which a new leak about the film has suggested will be revealed in the upcoming film.
There have been many theories about who Rey’s parents really are. Ridley was also asked about the most popular theories during the “Last Jedi” panel discussion two years ago. The theories at that time ranged from her being related to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to her being the daughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor).
Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) shared some hints about Rey’s parents in the previous film, but can his words be trusted? Ridley herself suggested in a previous interview with Time Out that “The Force Awakens” makes it pretty clear who her parents are. It was only later that she realized that what seemed obvious to her is still not clear for the fans.
Ridley’s words suggest that Rey’s parents were significant, and not some drunk nobodies as Kylo Ren has suggested. According to a report by Comic Book Resources, “Star Wars: Episode 9” will reveal who the young Jedi’s parents really were.
The following part of the article contains spoilers of “Star Wars: Episode 9.”
According to the leaked report, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) had an affair with someone when he was separated from Leia (Carrie Fisher). The result of that affair was a daughter- Rey!
Han Solo being the father of Rey would explain in part the relationship troubles between the smuggler and the Resistance General. It would also explain the proximity between Rey and Han in “Force Awakens,” and it would also explain her natural talents as a pilot.
Is Rey Han Solo’s daughter? Fans will have to wait and see “Star Wars: Episode 9” to find out for sure.
