'Star Wars: Episode 9': List Of Confirmed Planets Revealed
Just like the movies that came before it, “Star Wars: Episode 9” will be introducing some new planets in the fictitious galaxy. Visuals of some of these planets have been teased in the trailer of the film and the recently released behind-the-scenes pictures. Here’s a look at some of these new locations.
Back when the fans first came to know that “Star Wars: Episode 9” was filming in a desert valley in Jordan, there was a lot of discussion about whether the location was standing in for Tatooine or Jakku. The planet was also teased in the trailer of the film. It was in the Vanity Fair coverage that the name of this planet was revealed to be Pasaana, a planet that hasn’t been seen in the films yet.
The location that JJ Abrams chose for the planet Pasaana is called “the Valley of the Moons.” The behind-the-scenes picture that was previously released of this location showed that Rey (Daisy Ridley) will be seen here on the planet, and this is presumably the place where she will fight Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
The other important planet in “Star Wars: Episode 9” is Kijimi. This planet is the home world of the new character Zorri Bliss (Keri Russell). This is a snow-covered planet that appears to be the home of scoundrels of the galaxy, and Russell’s character has been described as one of these scoundrels who will be seen in the Thieves’ Quarter.
The upcoming film will also revisit the burning of the Jedi Temple that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) built. While the fans have seen the burning of the building before, the name of the planet on which it was located hasn’t been revealed yet. It remains to be seen if this scene will be a flashback sequence or a part of a Force vision.
General Leia (Carrie Fisher) will be back in the next film, and the trailer of the film teased the character hugging Rey on a jungle planet. It remains to be seen if this planet is where the remnant forces of the Resistance have built a new base. Details about more planets in the film may be revealed in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, one of the ships from “Star Wars: Episode 9” may be seen in Disney’s theme park Galaxy’s Edge. In a recent interview with Collider, Colin Trevorrow revealed that he designed a ship for the park while he was working on the film. Trevorrow was originally working on the last film in the sequel trilogy, but he left the project in 2017 and Abrams took over from him.
