'Star Wars: Episode 9' Theory: Will Zorri Bliss Become Another Wasted Character?
“Star Wars: Episode 9” will be introducing another major masked character called Zorri Bliss (Keri Russell). Although the character has a cool looking costume, she is not expected to get a lot of screen time. According to a new theory, this is an opportunity for the franchise to introduce a character that will be loved like Bobba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch), or it could be another wasted opportunity like Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie).
Right from “The Force Awakens,” the sequel trilogy appeared to be searching for the next Bobba Fett. Captain Phasma looked promising to take on this responsibility. The comparisons were obvious and predominant back in 2015, and Christie was also asked who would win a fight between the two characters by Entertainment Weekly, which is a good indication of the expectations for the character.
Although Captain Phasma had a great costume, the character’s storyline did not match the expectations of the fans. Now, the upcoming film is introducing Zorri Bliss, another big female character with a beautiful costume. Will this character in “Star Wars: Episode 9” get the fans excited?
According to a theory by Screen Rant, Zorri Bliss can turn out to be a new fan favorite character is she is given some great fight scenes, the character’s motivation are explained, and if her role makes a genuine impact to the overall story of the film. The character doesn’t need a lot of screen time to accomplish this, and what is important is to have a few memorable scenes.
The official character description of Zorri Bliss is already exciting. She is a masked scoundrel who lives in the snow-dusted world of Kijimi. The first reveal of the character by Vanity Fair showed her in the Thieves’ Quarter.
Whether or not Zorri Bliss will get the fans excited will be known after “Star Wars: Episode 9” is released on Dec. 20. As far as Russell is concerned, she previously told “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” that she is excited about joining the franchise.
