'Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II’ Gets New Update After 10 Years
In a move that will please plenty of “Star Wars” fans and gamers alike, a new update has arrived for “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords” ("KOTOR 2"). This update will be available for the versions on Steam, Mac and Linux, with a number of improvements to make the role-playing game a smoother experience.
According to a report from Game Informer, the new “KOTOR 2” update features 37 new achievements, the ability to make Steam Cloud save files, widescreen resolution, controller support, Steam Workshop support and more. These updates will make playing the decade-old game more manageable, as it has been reported that it doesn’t always play well on higher-resolution computers.
Fans also will be happy to hear that they will be able to download the “The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod,” which adds plenty of content to the game that was originally cut out from the retail release. Not only does the mod fix a number of bugs and glitches, it adds a number of dialogues to the story, making the mod feel like an essential download. Fans can find out more about it in the Deadly Stream forum.
There have been rumors regarding a “KOTOR 2” mobile version, which has led some to believe these final fixes were done to ensure a quality mobile port of the game from the computer versions. Nothing has been confirmed, but considering how well the first “KOTOR” game did on mobile devices, adding the sequel of the game should be a no-brainer.
“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords” was released in 2005 and is available for the PC, Mac, Linux and original Xbox. Though not as popular as its predecessor, fans and critics still enjoyed the game’s storyline and combat system.
