The official concept art of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” and the tie-in novels and comics has been released online. The pictures tease some of the scenes, action sequences, and one major new character featured in the upcoming film.
The upcoming JJ Abrams film is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Disney and Lucasfilm have planned tie-in content in the form of novels and comics that will released later this year. The official Twitter page of the “Star Wars” franchise recently announced the “Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” publishing program.
The books and comics that will be released later this year will be about the events that happen just prior to the timeline of the upcoming film, according to the official Star Wars website.
The stories in the novels and comics will be focused on the lives of the main characters Rey (Daisy Ridley), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega), Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), Leia (Carrie Fisher), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), the droids and the First Order. Lucasfilm’s creative director of publishing Michael Siglain confirmed that the books and comics will contain “hints and Easter eggs” of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”
The cover art of “The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is by Lucasfilm design supervisor Christian Alzmann. The picture shows an interesting lightsaber duel between Rey and Kylo Ren.
One of the novels of the film will focus on Poe, Leia, Rey and Finn trying to rebuild the Resistance after the devastating losses in the previous film. The cover art of another novel that is also about Leia and the Resistance is currently being kept under wraps.
“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will also introduce an exciting new character who is a “Force Collector.” The cover art of one of the novels shows this character carrying various objects he picked up from across the galaxy, which includes an old Stormtrooper helmet and what appears to be a lightsaber.
