New details about the final action sequence in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” have surfaced online. The last battle is going to be between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), which was also teased in the trailers.

The following article contains “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” spoilers.

The final battle against Palpatine will take place in the cave that has the stone throne that was seen in the trailers, Making Star Wars reported. The former Emperor will drain the Force powers of both Rey and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) before the last fight. The Sith Lord will be able to rejuvenate back to his younger self after draining the powers of the two characters.

Kylo Ren will become Ben Solo in the last film, and he will be killed by the former Emperor. The death scene involves the Sith Lord pushing Ben into the mist from a bridge, and his death will mirror the death of Han Solo (Harrison Ford).

Ford also has a cameo scene in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” According to Making Star Wars, the smuggler will return to guide his son back to the light. In this scene, Ben will tell his father that he loves him, and in reply Han will say his classic dialogue “I know.”

Ben will apparently sacrifice himself in order to save Rey and the galaxy. After the Jedi’s Force is drained , she will be rejuvenated by the Force Ghosts of those who came before her. This will prepare her for the final confrontation.

Confident of his victory, Darth Sidious will shoot bolts of lightning from his hands into the space above the planet at the Resistance ships. A rejuvenated Rey will stop his attack, and he will focus his attention on her. His Force lightening attack on her will have no effect as she will use her lightsabers to block him.

According to another report by Making Star Wars, the reason why Rey will be the one to confront Palpatine in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is because she is his granddaughter. This is also the reason why Leia (Carrie Fisher) sent her to Luke (Mark Hamill) as soon as she met her because she knew her brother would want a chance to save her from turning to the dark side.
