A Staten Island couple was arrested after leaving their toddler in a car on Christmas Eve.

Police records indicate that Nataliyk Pimyuk, 25, and Orest Babchuck, 27, are being charged with child endangerment. A woman allegedly saw the couple's 14-month-old son strapped into his car seat alone in the vehicle at Hylan Shopping Plaza on Saturday, reported NY1.

Police say the infant was left alone in the car for nearly a half hour, when the temperature was around 40 degrees.

Members of Emergency Service Unit were able to unlock the car and send the baby to the hospital. They arrested the parents when they returned to the car, reported NY1.

They were arraigned on Sunday and released. They are due back in court in February.
