Steph Curry Net Worth: GSW Salary, Endorsements Ahead Of NBA Finals Game 3
For all his incredible basketball records and jaw-dropping three-point shooting, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has never won the “Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award.”
Teammate Kevin Durant won the coveted award for the past two seasons. Long-time nemesis LeBron James (then with the Cleveland Cavaliers) took home the award in the 2015-16 season when the Cavs won the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the expense of the Warriors.
Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard, whose team is contesting this season’s NBA crown against Curry and his Warriors, won the Finals MVP in 2013-14 when he was with the San Antonio Spurs.
Curry, however, is now odds on favorite to win his first Finals MVP this season even if his Warriors lose their title to the Raptors. Odds makers say that won’t happen and the Warriors are in for their first three-peat.
But if the Warriors go on to win the title this season, Curry’s net worth is bound to skyrocket. Curry is currently the highest paid NBA player with a salary of $37.5 million, excluding endorsements and advertising.
Curry has a 5-year, $201.2 million contract with an annual salary cap of $40 million. The contract is valid until the 2022 season. Curry was the highest paid NBA player in 2017-18.
With a net worth of $77 million in 2018, Curry is also the eighth richest athlete and the 24th richest celebrity in the world, according to Forbes. His wealth consists of $34.9 million in salary and winnings and $42 million in endorsement deals.
Curry’s biggest endorsement deal is with Under Armour. He also has contracts with Chase, Vivo, eHi, Nissan/Infiniti, Brita, Bubble and JBL.
In addition, Sony Pictures announced a multi-year development and production deal with Curry in 2018. Curry’s newly-formed production company, Unanimous Media, wants to develop and produce film and TV projects with a focus on family, faith, and sports. Curry is a devout Christian.
The deal with Sony likely means Curry will make more than $80 million this season from endorsements, according to some sports analysts. Based on his current salary and deals, Curry stands to make close to $400 million from the start of the 2017-18 season until the end of 2021-22.
