It's been over a decade since Stephen Colletti starred on reality television, which is probably why he doesn't mind spilling all the tea about that portion of his life.

During a chat with Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin for the most recent episode of their "Whine Down" podcast, the "Laguna Beach" alum suggested that he may have been manipulated into appearing on an episode of "The Hills" in 2008 after he made the decision to step away from reality television.

"They asked me a bunch over the years and I was obviously getting into scripted stuff and so there as an opportunity where, once they realized I was obviously more concerned about doing scripted, they paired a development deal," the 34-year-old explained.

"They did that and I was bringing them all these different projects and they were just like, ‘No we’re good, we’re good,’" he continued. "What I later figured out was I’m pretty sure they didn’t care about the development deal with me."

"They were just willing to say, 'Oh hey, we’re going to give you this as well, and come do The Hills.' So I did one episode," the "One Tree Hill" alum added.

"The Hills" aired for six seasons from 2006 until 2010 but earned new life when MTV announced in 2018 that they would reboot the series as "The Hills: New Beginnings." Stephen revealed that he was asked to join the show but turned it down.

"MTV has asked me, but I think that first season of 'Laguna Beach' was enough reality television for a couple of lifetimes," he shared.
