Stephen Collins Update: '7th Heaven' Actress Dead, More Disturbing Allegations Emerge, LAPD To Reopen Investigation
Stories continue to pour out in the wake of the shocking release of tapes from a couples therapy session from 2012 in which "7th Heaven" actor Stephen Collins allegedly confesses to molesting and exposing himself to three young girls. The Hollywood gossip site TMZ obtained the tapes, initially believed to be from Collins’ ex-wife, Faye Grant, this week.
Updates to the lurid story include Grant's claim that she had no involvement in releasing the tapes to the media and has no idea how they got released. Also, according to TMZ, Grant sent an email to Collins last year after his 2012 disclosure about molesting young girls. In the email, she refers to Collins' relief that she was going to give birth to a girl instead of a boy because he was having fantasies of performing oral sex on his suppositional son.
The email, which TMZ seems to have obtained, is alleged to read:
"The comment you made just before I gave birth to our daughter when you said you hoped we didn't have a little boy, because 'you just didn't know if you could keep his little penis out of your mouth' was indication enough that you were sick.... I should have followed my gut then, and then again 14 years ago, and kicked your ass to the curb."
Rumors also circulated last night on Twitter that Collins had committed suicide but proved to untrue. TMZ reports that the LAPD closed the Collins case after investigating it in 2012, but, according to TMZ, LAPD sources say they are relaunching the investigation and will "re-listen" to the tape to see if they "missed anything."
In a sad and unrelated coda, actress Sarah Goldberg, who played Sarah Glass Camden in "7th Heaven" from 2002 to 2006, died in her sleep, according to US Magazine. Her mother Judy Goldberg told the Chicago Sun-Times, “She went to sleep and didn’t wake up.” The Chicago native made her Hollywood debut in the TV series "Judging Amy" in 2002. She also appeared in "Without a Trace," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "House M.D." and the 2001 films "Jurassic Park III" and "Training Day." Most recently, Goldberg played Colleen Sarkossian on the CW series "90210."
