Shonda Rhimes’ newest ABC series, “Still Star-Crossed,” is in danger of being canceled.

According to Deadline, the network has decided to move “Still Star-Crossed” to a Saturday time slot after three low-rated weeks on air. The “Romeo & Julie” sequel will go on a short break and will return with episode 4 on July 8. Originally, “Still Star-Crossed” airs on Mondays at 10 p.m., but this schedule did not help boost the show’s ratings.

The same publication noted that the move from Monday to Saturday already guarantees that the Torrance Coombs-starrer will not be renewed for a second season. More specifically, the official cancellation by ABC could be expected sometime next week.

“Still Star-Crossed” premiered on ABC’s best summer time slot since it aired after “The Bachelorette.” But even though the show’s schedule was ideally perfect, the ratings did not reflect this. On its pilot episode, the series garnered an underwhelming 2.3 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating among viewers 18 to 49. Following its third episode, the series only received a total of 1.6 million viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.

Meanwhile, this is the second time that Rhimes’ ABC series has been canceled within just a month. In May, the network also announced their decision to axe “The Catch” after only two seasons because of low ratings. Last month, the network also announced that they will cancel “Scandal” after its upcoming seventh season.

As of late, only Rhimes’ medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” is standing strong in ABC. Despite the inconsistent ratings in Season 13, “Grey’s Anatomy” still has a strong following. Also returning to ABC in the fall is Viola Davis’ murder drama, “How to Get Away With Murder” Season 4.

In other news, if Rhimes is close to saying goodbye to another one of her shows, she’s also looking forward to the arrival of “Adult Behavior.” The dramedy has been ordered to pilot by the network, and the script will be written by “Wonder Woman” screenwriter Allan Heinberg. However, it is still unsure whether or not ABC will order the pilot to an actual series.
