‘The Strain’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 4 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen in ‘The Silver Angel’ [PHOTOS]
The fight to save New York looks like it’s going to get even more interesting this Sunday in Season 2, episode 4 of “The Strain,” titled “The Silver Angel”
Eph Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) are ready to release their lethal virus onto the strigoi and see if it can stop the epidemic and spread the virus onto those who have been infected. Since the season started we have watched both of them try to find a way to take their knowledge from working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and use it to find a way to stop people from turning into blood-sucking monsters. Last week they finally had a breakthrough with one of their test subjects and this week they will put it to the ultimate test.
Vasily Fet (Kevin Durand) will look to handle Red Hook Security on his own. Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Vaun (Stephen McHattie) suffered a setback last week when they attempted to kidnap Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde). Vaun, the good strigoi, was met with a security system of ultraviolent light and it’s unknown at this point whether or not he survived while Gus was able to escape. This week we should find more answers.
Episode 3 saw the reemergence of Mr. Fitzwilliam (Roger R. Cross), who was head of security for Palmer last season, but left after catching wind that Palmer had a hand in the spread of the epidemic that had started to plague New York City. Fitzwilliam was seen heading to Staten Island to stay with his firefighter brother.
Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) and Dr. Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) will head out to Staten Island this week to question Fitzwilliam about Palmer. We learned the secret as to why Setrakian is still able to fight so well at the age of 94, as he boils up his own concoction of strigoi worms into eye drops and drops them into his eyes.
The synopsis didn’t mention anything about the latest character to join the fight -- Councilwoman Feraldo (Samantha Mathis). She has managed to keep Staten Island completely free of the virus, and even hung up a couple of headless strigoi to send a signal to the creatures as to what will happen if they cross into Staten Island.
Kelly Goodweather (Natalie Brown) and her new army of blind children turned strigoi were not heard from last week as well. Could we see a return of them and the Master (Robin Atkin Downes) this week?
Episode 4 of “The Strain” Season 2 airs on FX on Sunday, August 2 at 10 p.m. EDT.
