Stray Kids' Felix May Limit Participation During Fan Meet Due To Back Injury: Agency
Stray Kids' lead dancer Felix may limit his participation during the group's upcoming fan meet due to a back injury, according to the group's agency.
JYP Entertainment announced Wednesday that Felix has been diagnosed with intervertebral disk herniation after complaining of back pain.
"Felix recently visited a hospital after experiencing pain in his back. After a detailed examination, he was diagnosed with intervertebral disk herniation," the agency noted in a statement to Soompi. "While there is no effect on his everyday activities, as doctors have recommended that he avoid postures and activities that pressure his waist, Felix will be avoiding any strenuous activities while receiving treatment for prompt recovery. Consequently, Felix's performance for certain stages during the Stray Kids 2ND #LoveSTAY 'SKZ'S CHOCOLATE FACTORY' this upcoming February 12-13 may be limited."
A herniated disk means there's a problem with the rubbery cushions (disks) located between the bones that make up the spine. This condition commonly occurs in the spine and can result in pain, numbness or weakness in the arm or leg, according to Mayo Clinic. Surgery is not needed to resolve the problem as symptoms disappear over time.
"Felix will be participating in stage performances after doctors confirm that his back has fully recovered. JYPE will provide our utmost to support the artist's recovery," JYP Entertainment added.
"GetWellSoonFelix" became a trending topic on Twitter as fans wished the 21-year-old singer and dancer a fast recovery following the agency's announcement.
"Get well soon to our precious sunshine, take all the rest you need to recover. Always take care of your health and stay healthy. Remember you deserve the whole universe and We love you so so much Felix," a fan tweeted.
Another fan posted a smiling photo of Felix and wrote, "Take care of yourself sunshine! Stay are here for you."
The group's fan meet, called "2ND #LoveSTAY SKZ's CHOCOLATE FACTORY," will take place at Seoul Olympic Hall on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets to the event already sold out in January. Those who weren't able to secure their tickets can watch it online through the concert streaming platform Beyond LIVE.
