Capcom has dropped a load of new information about "Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition," including its final DLC character, the release dates of Season 5 characters, their gameplay, and a new mode.
Capcom revealed the details for "Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition" during its Summer Update 2021 stream. "Street Fighter III" series' Oro and "Rival Schools" series' Akira Kazama will be available for purchase on Aug. 16 for PlayStation 4 and PC players.
Aside from those, the Japanese video game publisher also unveiled the DLC character, Luke. The brand new character will debut in the game in November. He will definitely be a central character in the future entries in the franchise.
"Street Fighter 5 has been developed to pay homage to the past, but Luke will give us a glimpse into the future," Capcom Director Nakayama said while preparing the trailer. The director believes the character "will be expanding the world of Street Fighter."
Producer Shuhei Matsumoto agreed with the director and said: "We feel strongly that Luke will be a great addition to the game, and that he has a bright future in the world of Street Fighter."
There are also a couple of characters Capcom will release as part of the season, namely Rose and Dan. Rose is a popular fortune teller who was in the game's Alpha series, as well as "Street Fighter IV."
She will arrive in the game with a wide range of special moves. Dan, on the other hand, is a mainstay of the "Street Fighter" Alpha series and last appeared in "Street Fighter IV."
He is the training partner of iconic series' characters' Ryu and Ken. Dan considers himself as well-equipped to teach other players with his fighting style called Saikyo-ryu or Strongest Style.
A new mode called Online Tournament Mode will also be released to all players. This new mode allows players to set up online tournaments with Dojo members or with friends and change the rules. Capcom also said it will host tournaments that players can participate in.
In addition to the new mode, a new stage called Rival Riverside will also be introduced in the game. The new stage will see other "Rival Schools" characters such as Gan and Edge. A new video showcasing Oro is now available, offering players details regarding his gameplay, design, and V-System.
