Barbara Streisand, the iconic entertainer, believes in not revealing too much about her life and times.

She has recently released a design book, titled 'My Passion for design', which primarily details her experiences in building her dream home in Malibu.

In an interview, she said, “Writing a full blown autobiography is still too personal a task.

However, Streisand reveals some personal details about her life and career in her book. There are some anecdotes and personal tit-bits about her private life which she feels should satisfy the curiosity of her fans.

Streisand’s Malibu house is a culmination of her dreams for a home reflecting her style and passion for design.

Her book details her love for the 18th and 19th century American style of architecture. It has many photographs of rooms she has designed and her collection of artefacts through the years. There are also glimpses of the wonderful garden and the landscaping. A rare peep into her life.

Streisand says that the house and book is an amalgamation of her life as an entertainer and reflects all that she has learnt and ingrained in terms of style and design sense from her travels and experiences.

Barbara Streisand was recently in news for her support for the Women’s Hear Centre at the Cedars Sinai Heart Institute . She helped raise $5 million for the centre.

Barbara is the only artist to have won all four entertainment awards - namely Oscar , Tony, Emmy, Grammy and the Director’s Guild Award. She also has taken home the Peabody and Golden Globe.
