A class 12 student identified as Aman allegedly had his elbow outside one of the school bus' windows when the accident happened, and this resulted in his hand being severed from the collision.
Three more students were injured as the glass windows of the school bus shattered in the crash, while several others suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the truck fled from the scene after the collision, according to the report.
Locals reached the site and pulled out the injured students. They also alerted authorities to dispatch an ambulance.

The Bluebird 2018 school bus was traveling on State Highway 81 South last Friday when it was rear-ended by a 2010 Ford Escape at around 2:40 p.m.
