Subaru Releases Teaser Photo Of 2015 WRX Ahead Of Los Angeles Auto Show. Will It Resemble The Concept Impreza WRX That Appeared In New York In March?
Subaru, the Japanese automaker owned by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (TYO:7270), released a teaser shot of its 2015 Impreza WRX that shows … well, not much -- other than a front end that looks much like the concept version prominently displayed at the New York Auto show in March.
Little is known about the souped-up version of the Impreza that will be unveiled on Nov. 20 during the Los Angeles Auto Show’s press days ahead of the public opening. It’s probably not going to have the pricey carbon fiber top of the concept version, and the photos here show LED headlights that are a little less risky.
The next WRX will feature underpinnings somewhat different from previous versions that were identical to the plain-vanilla version of the Impreza sedan. This will be the first WRX that drops the Impreza label. The car will probably come with a 270 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four cylinder powering all four wheels. A 305 hp STI version might come out in 2016, if past WRX releases are any indication.
