In Oct. 2018, former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight was sentenced to 28 years behind bars due to a hit-and-run incident that he was involved in. Currently, the music mogul is serving his time, but it is said he has also made an interesting career move while incarcerated.

According to TMZ, even though Knight is set to remain in prison for a considerable amount of time, he recently decided to sign over the rights of his name to Ray J. This means that the "One Wish" musician will reportedly have the power to make business decisions for the imprisoned record producer.

Having this type of control could allow Ray J to "be in charge of selecting any possible biopics or biographies about or involving Knight," per Complex. Additionally, it gives the singer the ability to green light potential projects that would include Suge's likeness or life story. In turn, this could provide Knight with an opportunity to make money while behind bars.

It has been reported that a documentary on Death Row Records and Suge himself has already begun production. Other rumors have also emerged, such as one that stated the label itself may be resurrected following its 2009 closure.

As for Suge's remaining prison sentence, he could be released in a little more than ten years due to credit he received for time served and prison overcrowding. This follows the 28-year-plea deal he struck in the aforementioned 2018 case when he was charged with voluntary manslaughter.
