‘Suicide Squad’ Star Scott Eastwood Reveals Tragic Incident That Made It Harder For Him To Date
Despite being one of the hottest actors in Hollywood today, Scott Eastwood is currently not in a relationship. While it’s unclear whether or not being single is his choice, the “Suicide Squad” star recently revealed a tragic incident from his past made it harder for him to date.
“I dated a girl a couple of years ago who died in a car accident,” Eastwood told GQ Australia. “The f--ked up thing is, it was a fender bender, and there was a recall on airbags. Her airbag exploded. It shot a projectile through her body. It split her spine, and um ... I’ve never told anybody that.”
Eastwood, who is the youngest son of Oscar-winning actor-director Clint Eastwood, said that the heartbreaking accident deeply changed him.
“I’ve lost friends before; I’ve lost some great friends. But, I had never lost someone I had been really intimate with, you know, like in that way, in a relationship," he said. “I think that really affected me in a way that ... I don’t know. Maybe it’s made it harder for me to date.”
“It’s easy to fall in love when you’re young, right?" Eastwood added. "And then you start to realize those feelings of love and stuff — passion, love, lust — sometimes they come very quickly, but they can also leave quickly.”
Eastwood was most recently linked to model Adriana Lima. The two sparked dating rumors after they were reportedly spotted flirting during a night out in New York City last month.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly that Eastwood and Lima, also 35, arrived “arm in arm” at NYC restaurant Catch and looked cozy during a group dinner.
“The two were close and affectionate throughout the night," the onlooker said. Although the rumored couple were not seen kissing, the onlooker noted that the two "were always right next to each other and laughing at each other's, assumingly, flirty jokes. ... Scott [also] had his arm around her every chance he could.”
A separate source also told Entertainment Tonight that Eastwood and Lima dined together in a group and were being "really affectionate." The source added that the actor's arm was wrapped around Lima "the whole time."
A rep for the Victoria's Secret angel, however, denied that the two had dinner together. "Adriana had dinner that evening with a small group of friends and family; however, Mr. Eastwood was not in attendance," the rep said.
While Eastwood was said to be absent during the group dinner, a source close to the actor confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the "Fast 8" actor was actually in New York and did dine at the restaurant, but claims about him and Lima were just made up.
Back in January, Eastwood joked about checking out Lima during the IWC Gala Dinner in Geneva. That month, Eastwood posted a photo of himself on Instagram looking distracted during a group photo on the red carpet and captioned it, "You notice anything different about this photo? I'm the only guy looking left. Must've been looking at @adrianalima while the camera guys were yelling at me to look right."
