‘Suits’ Season 7, Episode 3 Sneak Peek: Louis Apologizes To Alex

Louis (Rick Hoffman) is trying to be friends with Pearson Specter Litt’s newest senior partner Alex Williams (Dulé Hill).

In a sneak peek from tonight’s Season 7, episode 3 of “Suits,” Louis drops by Alex’s office to give him an apology gift.

“Alex Williams, Louis Litt. I brought you a honeysuckle,” Louis tells Alex.

When Alex asks what exactly Louis is doing at his office, the Pearson Specter Litt name partner explains, “It’s a gesture. Since we might have gotten on the wrong foot.”

“You mean because you tried to poach my biggest client to keep me from joining the firm?” the former Bratton Gould lawyer asks.

“Yes, perhaps that’s the foot we got off on. But I was hoping we could get on to the other foot,” Louis says as he hands a pot of honeysuckle to Alex.

After Alex says that he appreciates Louis’ gesture to bury the hatchet between them, Louis says sorry about his attempt to poach Alex’s biggest client and even invites him to lunch. Although Alex gladly accepts Louis’ invitation, the two are far from becoming BFFs.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hill said that Alex is aware of Louis’ indifference towards him. “Alex knows that Louis does not want him there, so there’s a push and pull [in their relationship],” Hill said. “They’re trying to figure out if there’s a way to work together at all. Even though they know they have to work together they’re trying to figure out if they can work together now that they’re on the same team. They’re not friends … but I do think they will find common ground where they can relate and understand each other.”

Elsewhere in tonight’s episode, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) threatens to end his deal with Mike (Patrick J. Adams). In the trailer for the episode, someone is asking Mike to drop a client he made a promise to. When Mike tells his concern to Harvey, the latter surprisingly orders the former to let go of his client, and if he refuses, the “one for you, one for me” deal they made back in the Season 6 finale is going to be over.

Also in the upcoming episode, according to the installment’s synopsis, Rachel’s (Meghan Markle) leadership is challenged by an insubordinate associate.

“Suits” Season 7, episode 3, titled “Mudmare,” airs tonight at 9 p.m. EDT on USA Network.
