'Sun Haven' Combines Peaceful Farming With Magic And High Fantasy

Steam’s library of games is home to a number of peaceful farming and life sim games. Titles like “My Time At Portia” and “Stardew Valley” were praised for their enjoyable, down-to-earth gameplay that served as a good change of pace for many gamers’ diet of chaotic experiences.

The upcoming farming game “Sun Haven” promises to deliver the same sort of serenity that the aforementioned games have but with a mixture of magic, medieval fantasy and elements of traditional RPGs.

“Sun Haven” is a fantasy farming simulator in the same vein as “Stardew Valley.” Players will get to manage their own farm, grow crops, manufacture goods and interact with the many residents of the eponymous town of Sun Haven. Fans of “Stardew Valley” will be able to recognize many of the game’s core mechanics, but “Sun Haven” treads a completely different route.

The game takes a more fantastical approach to the traditional farming simulator style of game. Players can use magic to sustain crops, till land and perform other daily functions. The town of Sun Haven will be directly affected by the players’ farms, and players will be able to see the fruits of their labor in the town proper: shops will reopen, more new people will start moving in and activity will slowly return to the small town’s streets.

Combat and exploration are elements that “Sun Haven” heavily expands upon. The game has a main questline spanning all three of the world’s main towns and the wilderness in between them. Players can delve in caves to gather minerals and resources for commercial or personal use while fighting off monsters with either might or magic.

There are seven playable character races in “Sun Haven,” from the standard human to elves, demons and half-human, half-animal hybrids. Players can customize their avatars with a broad selection of race-specific features, clothing, armor and more. Certain NPCs can be romanced through natural interactions and not just spamming gifts, and players can even marry their own real-life partners in the game during multiplayer sessions.

RPG elements like quests, character progression, skill trees, pets and mounts are also available in the game, making “Sun Haven” the perfect game for those who are looking for a fantasy game with tons of options.
