The 2012 Super Bowl championship is indeed one of the most-watched television events in America. For the very first time in its history, the entire event, including the celebrity performances and rematch between New York Giants and New England Patriots, will be streamed live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on NBCSports.com and NFL.com, starting from 6:30 p.m. EST Sunday.
The NFL is very prudent to have this game start at 6:30 so that it can keep the younger viewers watching the game and engaged in the NFL, Brad Adgate, head of research at New York-based Horizon Media Inc., told Businessweek in a telephonic interview.
This year, the event has attracted as many as 111 million people who are expected to watch the game that is usually telecast for duration of 3 hours, 35 minutes.
However, a few new changes have been made in the schedule. The normal 12 minute intermission during halftime has been extended to 30 minutes, which will feature Madonna, Nicki Minal, M.I.A and several others.
Viewers can expect Madonna on stage approximately at 8:00 p.m., playing her new track Gimme All Your Luvin including the previous ones like Vogue, Holiday, Ray of Light and Music, Popcrush reported.
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson will sing the national anthem and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will sing America the Beautiful, during the pre-game events at the Super Bowl.
It is not only the game and performances that are the major reasons for people to watch Super Bowl, certainly its witty and clever ads have generated equal amount of buzz and craze for the event.
However, several companies like H&M, Honda, GM, Go Daddy, Doritos and Audi have already released their 2012 Super Bowl commercials, ads and teasers in the U.S.
