Super Bowl 2022 Odds: Point Spread Moving In Rams’ Direction
The Super Bowl 2022 betting odds have seen a noticeable change in the few days since the matchup became official. The Los Angeles Rams are even bigger favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals, according to the latest point spread.
Los Angeles opened as a four-point favorite for Super Bowl LVI at DraftKings Sportsbook. The betting line is up to 4.5 points for the Feb. 13 matchup at SoFi Stadium, the home of the Rams.
The Rams are -200 moneyline favorites to win the Super Bowl outright. L.A. had -195 odds to beat Cincinnati in the hours after it defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
The over/under has dropped from 49.5 to 48.5.
For the second straight year, the NFC champs will play the Super Bowl in their home venue. In 2021, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first team to play at home in the Super Bowl, though they did so in front of a limited-capacity crowd.
SoFi Stadium will be full when the Rams take on the Bengals.
If the point spread doesn’t move toward the Bengals, the Rams will be the biggest Super Bowl favorites in six years. The Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos 24-10 as five-point favorites in Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
The Rams have been favored in all but three of their games this season. Los Angeles failed to cover the 3.5-point spread in its 20-17 win over San Francisco in the conference title game.
Los Angeles upset the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a 30-27 win in the divisional round. The Rams easily covered the spread in their 34-11 wild-card win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Matthew Stafford is the Super Bowl MVP favorite. The Rams quarterback has thrown 47 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions in the playoffs and regular season combined.
The Bengals were underdogs in both the divisional playoffs and AFC Championship Game. Cincinnati pulled off the upset with a game-winning field goal as time expired in each contest.
The Bengals are 8-3 against the spread as underdogs this season.
