'Super Bowl Greatest Commercials All-Star Countdown' Special: When And Where To Watch The Saturday Event
As popular as the Super Bowl is, many non-football fans find themselves tuning in year after year to the big game in order to check out the inevitable slew of high-budget commercials. With the breaks in between the game just as popular as the competition itself, CBS is taking America on a historical journey of the 10 best ads ever to air during the Super Bowl.
Many may have tuned in on Feb. 2 when the network hosted its “Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2016” special, in which it covered five decades of fantastic commercials with a Top 50 countdown. According to People, it along with editorial members from other Time Inc. outlets (Entertainment Weekly, Fortune, etc) selected the top 48. The winner was then voted by viewers and announced live from the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of Super Bowl 50.
Now that the network has combed through the best ads with viewers, it will air “Super Bowl Greatest Commercials All-Star Countdown” on Sunday, Feb. 6, just one day before the big game airs. In it, “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Kevin Frazier will take an in-depth look at the top 10 commercials selected in the previous special.
According to a statement from CBS, the special will air live on Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. EST from Pier 48 in San Francisco. A live stream will also be available for any participating on-demand platforms that recognizes CBS All Access. Following the broadcast, the special will be available to watch alongside the top 50 countdown on the network’s official website, as well as the same participating on-demand platforms.
For those looking for an early teaser as to which commercials will be talked about as the best, the “Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2016” page on CBS has videos up of the first place winner and runner up. Winning the crown was the famed “Best of Bud ‘Brotherhood’” ad from 2013, followed closely by Volkswagen's “The Force” commercial from 2011.
