KEY POINTS

  • Josef de Souza has gained the go-signal to try and recruit Allan to Besiktas
  • Besiktas is looking to fill up the midfield void with players moving out
  • Everton is unlikely to easily give up Allan

Besiktas JK could be adding a new face soon, something that would make Josef de Souza a very happy man.

According to reports, BJK boss Sergen Yalcin has allegedly allowed de Souza to pursue and try to convince Allan Marques Loureiro of Everton to hop on board, Yeni Asir reported.

This would be welcome news to the Brazilian footballer who previously succeeded in convincing Alex Teixeira to join Besiktas to make the switch this summer.

If all goes accordingly, it would see the reunion of three players who played for Vasco da Gama in 2009 after graduating from the Brazilian side’s academy.

It would be another good signing for BJK after bulking up in the last transfer window.

Aside from Teixeira, the Turkish team could have a good midfield in the next season with Miralem Pjanic also set to return.

Pjanic is currently on loan to Barcelona and may return with some notable improvements.

A potential Allan coming would also make sense for Yalcin. Team captain Atiba Hutchinson is set to leave Vodafone Park at the end of this season.

That void could be filled up by the 30-year-old central midfielder if things fall into place.

Allan is one of several names on Besikta’s list although he appears to be at the top right now. While de Souza could serve as some sort of influence, getting him on board will not be easy.

A reason for this is that the Brazilian is an important part of Rafa Benitez’s mix. Since moving over from Napoli, Allan has started in all English Premier League games thus far.

There is also the money matter tied to any potential move for Allan. He is making £70,000 ($95,000)-a-week.

Everton, for its part, is unlikely to give up the Brazilian easily.

For now, the focus of Besiktas is the current season. They are two points behind leaders Fenerbahce after playing eight fixtures.
