‘Supergirl’: Mon-El, Saturn Girl Come Face-To-Face With Reign In New Trailer
The Legion of Superheroes suits up to stop Reign and save Kara in next week’s episode of “Supergirl.”
In the extended trailer for Season 3, episode 10 of the CW series, Reign (Odette Annable) continues her rampage on National City as Kara (Melissa Benoist) struggles to heal from the injuries she got from her last fight with the Worldkiller.
When Alex (Chyler Leigh) says that they have to stop Reign even without Kara, J’onn (David Harewood) admits that he doesn’t like their odds without the Girl of Steel by their side. But as Winn (Jeremy Jordan) notes, the DEO literally has the Legion of Superheroes to help them deal with Reign.
Later in the trailer, Mon-El (Chris Wood) and his wife Saturn Girl (Saturn Girl) are seen squaring off against Reign while Legion member Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) stays at the DEO trying to bring Kara back from a dreamlike state. “The only thing keeping you here is you,” Brainiac-5, who appears to have entered Kara’s mind, tells her in the trailer.
Elsewhere in the promo clip, Reign goes back to her stronghold, Fortress of Sanctuary, and is commended by the hologram of a hooded Kryptonian woman (Anjali Jay). “You have done well my child,” the hologram tells Reign. “You easily vanquished the daughter of the House of El.”
While Reign has already left her mark on National City, the hologram tells her that her mission is far from over. “You left your mark on their city, but there is much yet to be accomplished,” the hologram says. “This time to deliver The Awakening.”
It’s unclear what The Awakening is, but it seems that it’s Reign’s ultimate objective on Earth. “She doesn’t come to Earth to go on a killing spree,” Annable teased to Hidden Remote at the San Diego Comic-Con last July when asked what her character’s goal is. “She had a very specific agenda that she is out to [achieve] and you’ll see that story unfold throughout the season.”
“Supergirl” Season 3, episode 10, aptly titled “Legion of Superheroes,” airs on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Watch the extended trailer below:
