‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Actress Brenda Strong Confirmed To Appear On The CW Series — Who Is She Playing? [PHOTOS]
Brenda Strong’s “Supergirl” casting has been confirmed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Strong, who currently plays Ilene Stowe in Season 2 of AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” landed a recurring role in the sophomore run of the CBS-turned-CW series. The news outlet didn’t disclose any details about Strong’s role, but it revealed that the Emmy-nominated actress will make her first appearance in the show’s upcoming season premiere, and will make quite the impression in it.
News that Strong will be appearing in Season 2 of “Supergirl” first broke after she was spotted on the set of the Melissa Benoist-led series on Sept. 13. In an on-set photo obtained by YVRShoots, the 56-year-old actress was seen filming outside Westminster’s real-life police station in British Columbia, Canada, which doubled as National City Police Department during the shoot. According to YVRShoots, Strong was filming the new season’s Episode 5 under the direction of Glen Winter.
Given Strong’s outfit and the filming location during that day, it appears that her character is working for the police. In addition, since Floriana Lima — who plays National City Police Department detective Maggie Sawyer — was also seen on set that day, it’s possible that Strong will be playing Maggie’s colleague or superior.
That day, a lucky fan also had the chance to have a photo with Strong. “Met #Everwood & #DesperateHousewives alum #BrendaStrong at the #Supergirl ep 2x05 shoot,” Sean Koo captioned an Instagram pic of himself with the actress. “She seemed so surprised I was a fan of her Everwood work. @strongbrenda thnx for the time today. You did great work in Everwood, Desperate Housewives, Dallas, & #The100. #yvrshoots.”
