‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: Maggie Tells Alex To Come Out To Her Family In Episode 6 Featurette [VIDEO]
Maggie (Floriana Lima) will convince Alex (Chyler Leigh) to come out to her family in tonight’s episode of “Supergirl.”
In the “Inside Supergirl” featurette for Season 2, episode 6, Maggie explains to Alex why it is important for the latter to open up about her true sexuality to her family. “Tell your family,” Maggie tells Alex. “This is the biggest that that has ever happened to you, and you shouldn’t have to do it alone.”
As confirmed by executive producer Andrew Kreisberg to E! News last week, Alex is coming out as gay to Kara (Melissa Benoist) in tonight’s episode, titled “Changing.” “She's going to come out to her sister in episode 6,” he said. “It will not be smooth because nothing ever is and it would be boring if it was smooth. But it will be honest, I can say that.”
In a recent interview with TVLine, Kreisberg revealed that there is going to be a small tiff between the sisters when Alex finally comes out to Kara. “Alex and Kara have a little misunderstanding, actually,” the exec producer teased.
According to Kreisberg, Kara is going to feel sad when she learns about Alex’s self-discovery, and the latter will mistake the former’s reaction for not being completely supportive. Unbeknownst to Alex, however, Kara’s sadness is born of guilt, not prejudice. At the end of the episode, when everything is said and done, Alex’s coming out is only going to make the two closer than ever.
In the episode 6 featurette, Dr. Rudy Jones (William Mapother) also figures out how he’s slowly becoming the Parasite. “The [unknown] organism seems to be absorbing my red blood cells, rewriting my DNA into something new,” Dr. Jones says in the clip. “We’re not two distinct beings any longer. We’ve become one.”
In the comics, Rudy Jones is the second character to become the Parasite. In the source material, Rudy was a janitor at the Pittsburgh branch of S.T.A.R. Labs who transformed into the Parasite after he was exposed to a strange form of radiation. Since then, his body has been in a constant state of hunger for energy, leaving him with no choice but to absorb other people’s life energy.
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 6 airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
