‘Supernatural’ Season 10 Spoilers: Castiel’s Relationship With Claire To Evolve In The Midseason Premiere
Who’s ready for more Winchester madness? “Supernatural” will finally return to The CW with the second half of Season 10 on Tuesday. And according to reports, viewers won't want to miss the upcoming installment, especially if they’re interested in learning how Claire’s (Kathryn Love Newton) story line plays out.
In episode 9, fans were reintroduced to Claire, the daughter of Castiel’s (Misha Collins) true vessel, Jimmy Novak. It was revealed in “The Things We Left Behind” what had happened to Claire since Cas took over her father’s body. Due to being abandoned by her mother and following the death of her grandmother, Claire was forced to live in a group home. But Cas couldn’t bear the thought of his vessel-daughter living in a “child prison,” so he concocted a plan to bust her out.
After he broke Claire out of her group home, Cas learned just how troubled his vessel-daughter really was. Claire revealed her true, not-so-nice feelings for Cas (he did kill her father after all) before stealing his wallet and running off. But she couldn’t outrun the angel for long – especially with the help of Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki).
Eventually the trio tracked her down and saved her from being sold by a guy named Randy. But the winter finale didn't end on a happily-ever-after note. Dean ended up transforming back into a demon after getting struck on the head with a bottle during his mission to save Claire.
So, what should fans anticipate from Claire’s upcoming plotline in episode 10, "The Hunter Games"? The Hollywood Reporter revealed that viewers should expect Claire to stick around for only two more episodes in the 10th season – at least for now.
Executive producer Jeremy Carver elaborated on Claire’s development during an interview with E! Online, teasing that Castiel’s relationship with Claire will have its share of ups and downs. "Claire does not understand why Dean killed her surrogate father Randy," Carver said. "So Claire is very much a live wire still. How to deal with her and how to be a father to her is very much Castiel's story right now. There is more to be seen with their story.”
Carver added something very interesting about Claire’s future role in “Supernatural” during his interview with TVLine. In addition to revealing that Claire’s story line with Castiel was far from over, he also teased that fans should anticipate Claire’s relationship with Dean to evolve as Season 10 of "Supernatural" continues.
"Supernatural" will air its Season 10 winter premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
