‘Supernatural’ Season 11 Spoilers: Sam And Dean To Struggle Against The Darkness In Premiere Episode
Sharpen your stakes and grab some garlic because your favorite demon/monster-fighting brothers will be returning to the CW this fall. And according to reports, the Winchester siblings will come face-to-face with even more dreary drama come Season 11 of the fantasy series.
It was revealed during the “Supernatural” panel at San Diego Comic-Con that the upcoming installment of the cult-followed drama will pick up just where the Season 10 final left off: with The Darkness consuming the world.
In the finale, The Darkness (a primordial entity that not even God himself could destroy) was freed from its confinement after Rowena (Ruth Connell) conjured up a spell to remove the Mark of Cain -- the only thing keeping the destructive darkness contained. The annihilation of the Mark, which saved Dean from demonhood, allowed the tsunami of evil to flood the earth, trapping Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in their beloved Impala.
Ackles explained to fans that Season 11 will kick off with the twosome attempting to fight back against The Darkness while trying to “figure out what that is, how far it reaches and how to fix it,” the actor divulged.
But according to Padalecki, battling against the swarm of gloom will be much harder than they think considering The Darkness is a pre-biblical force. “We have no one to really turn to because no one really knows anything,” the “Supernatural” star said.
It’s true. Throughout the series it was revealed so little was known about the ancient entity that even the Angels were skeptical about its existence! Some thought it was just a scary, tall tale. But the winged creatures will learn the harsh and terrifying truth during Season 11 as Sam and Dean attempt to take on The Darkness “side-by-side” this fall.
“Supernatural” will return with its Season 11 premiere on Wednesday, October 7, at 9 p.m. EDT on the CW
