‘Supernatural’ Season 11 Spoilers: Sheriff Jody Mills Confirmed To Return; Kim Rhodes Teases Fate Of Fan Favorite
Scoot over, Donna Hanscum (Brianna Buckmaster), because there’s another sheriff coming to town – and her name is Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes)! That’s right, the “Supernatural” fan favorite is making her way back to the hit CW series. And according to reports, she’ll be facing some serious drama when she appears in Season 11.
Entertainment Weekly revealed that Rhodes will star in episode 12 of “Supernatural,” titled “Don’t You Forget About Me.” But, honestly, how could anyone forget about the tough, yet compassionate, pixie-haired sheriff? After all, she’s the character who is currently keeping a watchful eye over the rowdy twosome Claire (Kathryn Newton) and Alex (Katherine Ramdeen).
During Season 10, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) sent Claire, the daughter Castiel’s (Misha Collins) vessel, to live with Jody – who was already tasked with taking care of Alex. There, Claire would contemplate whether she wanted to live her life following in the Winchester brothers’ footsteps as a hunter. And it looks like we’ll find out how she decided to live in the forthcoming installment when she's confronted with mystical drama.
“Supernatural” showrunner Jeremy Carver dished to Entertainment Weekly that the trio will find themselves in the middle of chaotic situation when Sheriff Mills “has a case fall a bit too close to home.” But just how close are we talking about? Could this upcoming case result in the demise of the beloved sheriff?
Rhodes took to Twitter to reveal that the fate of her character is up to the writers of the long-running series.
“A reminder: I am not in charge of what my character gets to say on screen. Or whether she lives. That is all,” the actress wrote.
Although Rhodes, who previously starred in Disney’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” stayed tight-lipped regarding if her character would survive her supernatural encounter in episode 12, she did tease one spoiler: She won’t be making any references to the sitcom in which she played the mother of the rambunctious two blond-haired boys. (Guess it’s safe to say Rhodes is no stranger portraying the parent to a pair of troublemakers!)
“Supernatural” will return Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 9 p.m. EST on the CW.
