‘Supernatural’ Season 11 Spoilers: Will Dean Save Castiel? New Trailer Teases Trouble For Angel In Midseason Premiere [VIDEO]
The Winchester brothers have battled dozens of strange creatures throughout Season 11 from werepires to cursed masks, but now Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will face their biggest foes yet when “Supernatural” returns from its winter break. The ghost-hunting twosome will spend the midseason premiere of the hit CW series combating not just Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and Rowena (Ruth Connell), but the most epic enemies of all: The Darkness (Emily Swallow).
These three villains have made Sam and Dean’s life a living hell … literally. During the Season 11 winter finale, the devil lured Sam into The Cage (with manipulative visions) only to trap Sam in the underworld. So, when “Supernatural” returns, Dean will attempt to save his younger brother from the fallen angel’s clutches.
But Dean’s “to save list” will get longer than he anticipated. According to reports, Castiel (Misha Collins) has caught the eyes of both Amara (Swallow) and Rowena — and the brothers are eager to keep their heaven-sent friend safe from the dark entities.
“No matter how much it hurts, no matter how hard it gets, we gotta keep grinding,” Dean says in a new trailer for the upcoming season. “And that’s how we’re going to win. We’re going to save Cas. We’re going to ice the Devil. And we’re going the shank The Darkness. And anyone that gets in our way… well, God help them.”
The rest of the promo video gives audiences a sneak peek at what’s to come in the second half of Season 11. According to the video, WWE star The Miz, who will plays wrestling sensation Shawn, will get a beat down — and not in the ring. In addition, Dean will slip into a seriously adorable sailor outfit while Crowley (Mark Sheppard) will wiggle his way into a holiday-themed onesie during episode 10 of the science-fiction series. (Can you say best belated Christmas gift ever?)
“Supernatural” will air its Season 11 winter premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 9 p.m. EST on the CW.
