‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Spoilers: Misha Collins Talks About Castiel’s Cosmic Consequences For Killing Billie The Reaper
Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) angel friend Castiel (Misha Collins) unexpectedly killed Billie the Reaper (Lisa Berry) in the Season 12 mid-season premiere of “Supernatural.” The eldest Winchester had made a deal with the collector of souls to make him and Sam dead for some time so that they could escape a covert facility where they were being locked up.
The Winchesters were behind bars for attempting to assassinate the President. In all fairness, the Commander-in-Chief was actually possessed by the devil at that time.
However, Billie did want something else in return for granting Dean his wish. Come midnight, she would claim the soul of a Winchester. Dean, and later his mother Mary (Samantha Smith), were willing to give their soul to Billie. Shockingly, Castiel intervened and killed her before she could take any Winchesters’ soul.
Before she died, Billie warned that if their deal didn’t go through, there would be cosmic consequences. Will these cosmic consequences affect Castiel? Misha Collins is wondering the same thing. He told TVLine, “As I’m reading upcoming scripts and seeing what’s happening to the characters, I have been asking myself that question, as well. As far as I’ve seen, it’s not resolved yet. But there are a lot of things that crop up that I interpret as possibly having been cosmic consequences of that action.”
Which means, a number of things are going to happen to the angel in the upcoming episodes in Season 12 that could be interpreted as a price he paid for killing the Grim Reaper. However, Collins also said that it may not have been resolved yet.
Tomorrow’s “Supernatural” episode will see Dean and Sam help Mary take down a nest of vampires. Their mother is also trying to recruit them to the British Men of Letters.
“Supernatural” Season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
