‘Supernatural’ Season 9 Spoilers: Episode 18 Synopsis Leaked Online; What Will Happen In ‘Meta Fiction’?
The Winchester bros are back and they’ll be dealing with more drama than ever when episode 18, “Meta Fiction,” airs Tuesday, April 15. The CW drama teases fans with a thrilling plot; from guest star appearances to sibling feuds—it’s no wonder fans can’t wait for their favorite supernatural series to return.
According to episode 18’s official synopsis, here’s what “Supernatural” lovers can expect to go down Tuesday night: “Metatron makes contact with Castiel to try and convince Castiel to join him, while Sam and Dean pursue and capture Gadreel.” Jeez, try saying that five times fast.
Let’s get down to the basics. Metatron, played by Curtis Armstrong, is an angel and the scribe who recorded the Word of God. Soon after God had decided to leave Heaven, a gaggle of archangels began plotting a way to take over the universe. The missing link in successfully completing their villainous mission was Metatron’s tablets. With that in mind, Metatron decided to leave Heaven and fled to Earth where he currently spends all his time reading in Colorado.
But his quiet and leisure life will soon be disrupted when “Meta Fiction” airs. Metatron will now seek out the partnership of Castiel, played by Misha Collins, to help aid his own task. But what exactly? We know Metatron and Castiel have an interesting relationship. In Castiel’s attempt to reunite the angels in the Host of Heaven, the vessel of Jimmy Novak unwittingly completed a spell that caused all the angels, except Metatron, to fall to Earth.
Simultaneously, Dean and Sam will also have their hands full as they try to capture the broken-winged angel Gadreel, played by Tahmoh Penikett. Gadreel, according to Metatron, was God’s most trusted angel who was chosen to protect the Garden. However, he failed his mission allowing evil to enter Earth and was imprisoned as a result. That is, until Metatron set him free. Now Sam and Dean are on the hunt to capture Gadreel. But the brothers will have bigger problems on their hands when they learn one of them might actually be possessed by Gadreel.
“Thanks, Carlos,” Sam said on the phone during a sneak peek of episode 18. “You get track of anymore demon activity, give me a holler.”
That’s when Dean walked in.
“A dozen demon related cases. People without souls acting out,” Sam clued his brother in.
“No sign of Abbadon,” Dean concluded. “We just gotta keep digging.”
At that moment, Dean started scratching his right arm. In the real world, we wouldn’t pay any mind to someone with an itchy epidermis. But in “Supernatural,” everything must be analyzed.
“You OK?” Sam asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Dean nonchalantly replied. He then attempts to pull down his rolled up sleeve but accidentally reveals a fiery red tattoo. Could this be a mark that he’s being used as a vessel? We don’t recall ever seeing that specific tattoo on Dean before. But then again, we could be mistaken.
