'Supernatural' Star Misha Collins Apologizes For 'Misspeaking,' Says He Is Not Bisexual

Misha Collins, who said he was bisexual during a "Supernatural" fan convention held over the weekend, has apologized for "misspeaking."

"How many of you would consider yourself introverts?" Collins asked the crowd, as seen in the video shared on Twitter. "How many extroverts? And how many bisexuals?"

"I’m all three," Collins added.

The actor, who portrays a gay character in the "Supernatural" series, took to Twitter on Monday to clarify he was not bisexual.

Collins wrote he wanted to "deeply apologize for misspeaking this weekend" at the event. He explained his intention was to not discuss his sexuality, even though it sounded like he was coming out.

"My clumsy intention was to wave off actually discussing my sexuality, but I badly fumbled that and understand that was seen as me coming out as bisexual," he added. "This was not my intention so I need to correct the record: I am not bisexual."

However, the actor noted he does support the gay community, "I happen to be straight, but I am also a fierce ally and the last thing I want to do is falsely co-opt the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community."

He further added how much he supports the "human right to express" their identities and "to be free to love whomever we choose openly."

Collins concluded by once again apologizing for his language, noting "I am deeply sorry for the clumsiness of my language. I want to be a better ally and I feel sick to my stomach that I might have done anything to make things worse. I’m trying to learn, trying to do better and I will keep listening."

Fans took to the comments section to share their mixed reactions. While some people noted he should have been more careful with his words, others commented that they "forgive" him.

"Not angry but I understand why people would be upset," a fan wrote. "You effectively joked abt being bi which makes it seem like ones sexual identity isn’t a difficult thing a lot of people to struggle with."

Another fan shared how difficult it was for a celebrity as every word they said was published online or caught on the camera, while no one “directly” confirmed anything before writing about them.

On the work front, Collins will be next seen in the TV series, "Gotham Knights," which is under pre-production.
