The Surprising Role Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Son Prince Louis Will Take On In 2020

He’s the youngest child of Kate Middleton and Prince William, but Prince Louis may get to take on a big honor that his older siblings have fulfilled a few times in 2020.

Princess Beatrice is set to marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in the new year, as is Louis’ uncle, James Middleton, and they will be the last royal and royal adjacent weddings for some time. In an episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, commentators Kaitlin Menza and Lisa Ryan discussed the possibility that the weddings would give the young Prince, who will turn two in March 2020, a chance to take on an important role when the weddings take place.

“It’s a reminder that we’re running out of royal weddings so I’m very happy these two are coming up,” Menza said. “Beatrice’s and James Middleton’s but that’s it. I hope James’ is on the scale of Pippa in that we get to see all the images at the church so we feel included.”

“Of course and maybe his little nieces and nephews will be getting involved as pageboys and bridesmaids,” Ryan added.

The discussion of bridesmaids and pageboys, jobs which are traditionally fulfilled in British weddings by young children got the Podcast hosts excited by the prospect that the young prince would be one of them.

“Louis! He’s walking now but I think he will be ready for that kind of role by next year,” Menza said. “I have faith in him. I think he will.”

However, while the podcast hosts may be hopeful that Prince Louis will serve as a pageboy for the first time, it may not happen at all, or at least not at Princess Beatrice’s wedding. According to prior reports, Prince Louis may actually still be too young for the job when it comes to the traditional ages of pageboys and bridesmaids.

Generally, pageboys are between four and eight years old, which could still make Prince Louis just a little too young to take on the job just yet.
